MTSU's Historic Preservation Director Shares Vision for Student Careers

By MediaFx

Dr. Tiffany Momon, newly appointed director of MTSU’s Center for Historic Preservation, is set to lead the institution’s efforts in preserving cultural heritage while preparing students for careers in museums and preservation. Momon, who previously worked in corporate America, is returning to a role she once dreamed of, following in the footsteps of her mentor, Dr. Carroll Van West, who retired earlier this year. In her new position, Momon aims to equip students with the skills, relationships, and professional networks needed for success in the field. Her background includes a degree in political science from Tennessee State University in 2007. Momon’s transition from corporate life to academia reflects a broader trend of professionals seeking purpose beyond traditional career paths. The Center for Historic Preservation, located in Murfreesboro, Tenn., will continue its mission of safeguarding historical sites and educating the next generation of preservationists under her leadership.
